MY STORY
Who am I and why did I start this?
About Me
Hi! I’m Madison—a former Division I lacrosse player who competed at both Stanford and Johns Hopkins University, where I balanced elite athletics with top-tier academics.
At Johns Hopkins, I earned a cumulative 3.8 GPA while studying Public Health with a minor in Psychology. On the field, I was a standout midfielder—leading the team in several categories and earning Big Ten All-Tournament Team and Big Ten All-Conference honors.
I went on to continue both my academic and athletic career at Stanford University, where I earned my Master’s degree in Community Health and Prevention Research with a cumulative 4.0 GPA. During my time there, I elevated my performance to new heights—earning Pac-12 Defender of the Year honors, First Team All-Pac-12 recognition, and All-American honors, while also helping lead my team to a Pac-12 Championship.
Alongside these achievements, I balanced a clinical research internship in collaboration with physicians at Stanford’s world-renowned children’s hospital and completed a master’s-level thesis focused on pediatric health.
My path to Division I athletics wasn’t traditional. I went through the entire recruiting process while living internationally—spending time in both Asia and Africa due to my dad’s job—and returning to my hometown in the U.S. each summer to compete with a top club team and get seen by college coaches.
This unconventional path forced me to find ways to navigate recruiting, communication, and campus visits as a high school athlete living thousands of miles away from my home base. I have so much to share with you—and if I can do it, I promise the sky is the limit for you!
After graduating, I began building my personal brand on social media by authentically sharing my journey—the highs, the lows, and everything in between that comes with being a Division I athlete at two of the most academically rigorous institutions in the world.
Through that experience, I kept hearing and reading the same questions from athletes and parents:
“How did you get recruited? How can I/my child replicate that?”
“How do I/my child succeed as both a student and an athlete?”
“How did you manage that level of success academically and athletically?”
The reality is that there are very few resources that truly explain this process from someone who has lived it. That’s why MadMac Athletic Consulting exists.
My mission is to give athletes the guidance I wish I had—to help them navigate the recruiting process, succeed at the highest level, leverage what is unique about their story, and understand that they don’t have to choose between being a successful athlete or a successful student.
Because the truth is—you are never just one or the other.
You are a student, a competitor, and a person with goals that extend far beyond the field. And with the right guidance, you can succeed in all of it.
